Posting Regularly is Important
If you are planning to be a serious blogger, it is important to set a blogging frequency for yourself. I have noticed that it is not easy for most bloggers to post daily and some days you might just have a blank mind.
Leaving too many gaps between posts is not a good thing as your blog will grow slower and you probably do not want this to happen. Another thing I have noticed is when I do not posts I get less visitors, like me you probably want your visitors count to increase daily and not the opposite.
I am sure as a blogger you must have asked yourself this question too. How many times should I post daily or weekly? I have checked around and found that many bloggers already wrote about this topic, this means blogging frequency is important if you want your blog to be successful. According to me there is no exact posting frequency as it all depends on the person who is writing, but it is important to keep posting at the same pace. Here are a few interesting articles about post frequency:
Post Frequency - How Many Blog Posts are Too Many?
Does the frequency of your blog posts matter?
And this one that I think is the most interesting, Why Blog Post Frequency Does Not Matter Anymore. It is true that if your blog is receiving more than 5k visitors daily and you already have over a hundred posts but if you are a new blogger it does not really make sense. Let’s say I am participating in social sites to bring traffic to my blog, what if I don’t have anything to give my readers?
Of course when I am talking about a good posting frequency I am not saying that you should post daily but at least 3-4 times a week is good to start with, but if you can post daily it is even better.

One disadvantage by not posting regularly is that the bots stop coming. (Google loves people who post regularly!)
I’ve noticed that with my blog… when i stopped blogging for a while, due to the exams, the Google bot decreased its crawl rate & hence when I resumed, it didn’t index my posts for 3 days! (I had to add my blog manually to the crawl list)
Although everyone says a blogger should always draft his posts for those blank period where you run out of posts, the desire to procrastinate is much more tempting!
That’s right, google will visit you less often and even your readers will come less too. I don’t know why some people suggest not to post often.
I have some drafts waiting to be published, a few just title waiting for inspiration to be written. But I think I actually have a good pace of posting so, even if I do not have too many drafts, I do not have to worry.
I try my best to post every day but it can be really trying to work that round my daily schedule.
After a while, it just becomes a habit.
I was having this problem a while ago, I completely lost interest in the blog I was posting on. But here I have my daily posting hour in the evening, I am happy that I got interested in blogging again.
Yeah its important indeed, but for lazy people who lack inspiration on things to write about (ppl like me) it’s difficult :’(
Haha, don’t worry I am lazy too at times, but you need to be serious with yourself. You do not need to post great stuffs everyday.
yeah that is true… I think I should arrange my schedule post
Yes you should! Blogger have that option too now.
I am really not very regular with my posting frequency like I once was. You are right though - once a blog has really good traffic and dedicated readers, posting frequency becomes less important. I spend most of my blogging time reading and commenting on other blogs and less time writing. It works for me and I will stick to it:)
Posting 3-4 times a week is a good number, and one I’ve heard suggested before. I have noticed bigger blogs that are more established that seem to post much less. There seems to be a tipping point, where some bloggers slip into maintenance mode, as opposed to a build mode.
As with anything in life, momentum is something that is very key. I find that momentum is something very important in blogging. You gotta keep it rolling, because as soon as you get out of frequency, more than likely you lose all your momentum.
you’re right. I got more visitors when I post regularly. and my alexa is also getting better and better
Momentum, and discipline. I think I read some stats a while back, that over half the blogs created get abandoned within 3 months. I’ve contributed a few to that pile, but am trying to mend my ways these days.
blogging frequently is indeed important, although it can be tough!
