Momentum, and discipline. I think I read some stats a while back, that over half the blogs created get abandoned within 3 months. I’ve contributed a few to that pile, but am trying to mend my ways these days.

As with anything in life, momentum is something that is very key. I find that momentum is something very important in blogging. You gotta keep it rolling, because as soon as you get out of frequency, more than likely you lose all your momentum.

Posting 3-4 times a week is a good number, and one I’ve heard suggested before. I have noticed bigger blogs that are more established that seem to post much less. There seems to be a tipping point, where some bloggers slip into maintenance mode, as opposed to a build mode.

I am really not very regular with my posting frequency like I once was. You are right though – once a blog has really good traffic and dedicated readers, posting frequency becomes less important. I spend most of my blogging time reading and commenting on other blogs and less time writing. It works for me and I will stick to it:)
